Star of Gavin and Stacey challenged to run for Sport Relief

James Corden is preparing for his latest challenge of running 280 miles from the Arc de Triomphe to Marble Arch. He will complete the challenging run from Paris to London in aide of Sport Relief, after teasing from his colleague John Bishop who appears with James in ‘A League Of Their Own’, a sports quiz show.

As James Corden has become heavily involved in Sport Relief and Comic Relief, this seems to be a natural progression for him. However, according to friends, James doesn’t enjoy running which makes the challenge even more ludicrous. One friend said:

“John’s been teasing him into doing it, saying he’ll never make it- now James just wants to wipe the smile off his face. He’s started training and is seeing docs next week to ensure he will be fit and ready to step the training up a level.”

However, James recently injured his knee which may require surgery to correct. If this happens, he may not be able to carry out the challenge. Corden is waiting to hear from doctors to get the go ahead to run. He knows that he will not hear the end of it from John Bishop if he doesn’t take on the mighty challenge so is hoping for good news.

Corden has taken part in numerous fund raising activities for Sport Relief, with comedy shows and sketches. In 2010, he played his alter-ego Smithy from Gavin and Stacey, sharing a bath with David Beckham, football star.
