Comedy shows at the top of British TV poll

British comedy shows were recently voted as firm favourites by the 13,500 people surveyed by LoveFilm, the film subscription service. Coming in at number one as an all time favourite was Blackadder, starring Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson as his hapless sidekick. Fawlty Towers was voted in second place by respondents while Father Ted secured third place in the survey. Only Fools and Horses, starring David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst was voted as the fourth favourite TV show.

The travel website studied reviews of UK hotels which had been written over a period of eight years. He previously toured with his famous Alimony Tour, with the intention of earning enough money to pay his alimony to ex-wife Alyce Eichelberger. Cleese is now in the UAE with a show that outlines his life from birth to his days with the Monty Python Troupe. A Fish Called Wanda musical to open in Australia

The actor John Cleese and his daughter Camilla are working on a collaboration of a musical version of A Fish Called Wanda. Cleese has said that he believes Australia to be the ideal venue for the opening night of the musical. The pair is still working on the ‘book’ which is everything except the lyrics and music. It is hoped that the book will be finished in about a year, which is when casting may commence.

Fawlty Towers actress fights to save library

Prunella Scales, the well-known and much loved actress who played the role of Sybil in Fawlty Towers, is among those who are fighting to save Friern Barnet Library. A number of respected authors and actors have joined a petition to reopen the library. The library was closed on 5th April by the council and since that time, nearly 300 people have agreed to sign a petition online.
